Turning Waste into Resources

Introduction of Smart Food Waste Bins

In our ongoing effort to promote a circular economy, Swire Coca-Cola HK has become one of the first commercial and industrial entities in Hong Kong to adopt smart food waste bins, one of which is currently located in the staff canteen at our Shatin plant.

This initiative is part of the pilot scheme launched by the local government to reduce the city’s food waste. The collected food waste is transported to O·PARK1, located in Siu Ho Wan on North Lantau, for electricity generation and composting purposes, which achieves the transformation of "waste into resources".
Upcycling Wooden Pallets
Since 2024, Swire Coca-Cola HK has partnered with a non-profit organisation to give a second life to used wooden pallets. Hundreds of these pallets, which were originally destined for disposal, have been donated and repurposed into parts of a farm.

By implementing these initiatives, Swire Coca-Cola HK continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability and innovation in waste management.
