The inauguration ceremony of Swire Coca-Cola Zhejiang’s new aluminium can production line was held in Xiasha, Zhejiang province in January. The investment on the new production line was over RMB 87 million. It adopts world-class technology with filling speeds of up to 90,000 cans per hour, unlocking an annual production capacity of 26 million unit cases. This highly digitalised and automated production line not only expands production capacity, but also conserves energy and reduces carbon emissions. Compared to the original low-temperature canning process, the new technology fills cans at room temperature, which can save about RMB 800,000 in energy costs annually.
