Over One Million Bottles of Drinking Water Offers Emergency Relief
Since April, frequent floods and droughts have impacted regions such as Anhui, Fujian, Hubei, Guangdong, and Guangxi in the Chinese Mainland. These natural disasters have damaged infrastructure — including transportation and water supply systems — resulting in water contamination and a shortage of clean drinking water for the affected areas.
Swire Coca-Cola responded swiftly and offered emergency relief by teaming up with Coca-Cola China and the One Foundation. From April to early July, we activated the Clean Water 24 programme 25 times to assist local communities by supplying bottled water to affected citizens within 24 hours of a natural disaster.
Our local bottling plants partnered with NGOs and utilised our logistics network to deliver over 1.3 million bottles of drinking water to affected people to help them to get through the challenging times.
Hubei Over 170,000 bottles of drinking water were delivered, benefiting over 14,000 people.
Anhui Over 200,000 bottles of drinking water were delivered, benefiting over 20,000 people.
Fujian Approximately 250,000 bottles of drinking water were distributed, benefiting nearly 30,000 people.
Guangdong Over 350,000 bottles of drinking water were provided, benefiting more than 20,000 people.
Guangxi Over 360,000 bottles of drinking water were delivered, benefiting nearly 35,000 residents.
