Water conservation and emissions reduction have always been at the core of Shanghai Shenmei’s sustainability strategy. Today, our Jinqiao plant operates using 100% renewable energy and leverages advanced digital technology to monitor and optimise water usage in real-time and with quality assurance. Additionally, we have introduced an online wastewater monitoring system, adopted water recycling technologies, and installed water recovery devices. Through these efforts, we've improved our water efficiency to 1.6 cubic meters per ton and achieved a wastewater treatment efficiency of 60%, all of which has significantly reduced our overall water consumption.
Our Shanghai team also actively engages in public education initiatives on water conservation and participates in protecting local waterways such as the Huangpu River and Suzhou Creek. It has also partnered with local stakeholders to analyse the Taihu Lake catchment and formulate relevant water stewardship actions.
At the recent 2024 China Beverage Industry Association Annual Conference, Shanghai Shenmei received an award for the sixth year in a row for its excellence in water and energy conservation within the beverage industry. Together with the collective recognition received by our 23 bottling plants across the Chinese Mainland, this achievement reaffirms our unwavering commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
