1st Anniversary of Carbon Reduction Farmland

Climate change is undoubtedly affecting every part of the world, and disasters caused by extreme weather are becoming more frequent and severe. Therefore, carbon reduction is indeed urgent, and we must do everything we can to reduce our impact on the environment. Swire Coca-Cola is not only committed to carbon reduction in our core operations, but also encourages more people to participate in carbon reduction through community projects, while strengthening public education on environmental protection.

In 2021, Swire Coca-Cola China launched a flagship CSR programme “Carbon Reduction Alliance Programme” in the Chinese Mainland to reduce our carbon footprint with our partners along Swire Coca-Cola’s value chain. During phase one of the programme, we joined forces with the International Fund for Animal Welfare and the Xishuangbanna Tropical Rainforest Conservation Foundation to establish a “Carbon Reduction Farmland” in the Wild Elephant Valley of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province. The Farmland aims to create an eco-friendly community, where biodiversity and rural revitalization could be addressed. It is hoped that the programme will ultimately become a developmental role model for low-carbon communities.

Building on the success of the first Carbon Reduction Farmland, Swire Coca-Cola is planning to establish five other Farmlands in the Chinese Mainland by 2025. This will contribute to building a sustainable future through continuous community investment.
