As a global corporation, Swire Coca-Cola shoulders the responsibility to mitigate the environmental impact of its businesses and to help combat climate change. We have been continuously making decarbonisation efforts across our value chain by integrating renewable energy into the energy mix of our core operations.

By 2026, we aim to use 100% renewable electricity in our core operations, and we have made significant progress in adopting green energy through different key projects.

In the Chinese Mainland, Swire Coca-Cola Zhejiang signed a procurement agreement with Datang Power's Zhejiang Branch in April to purchase 30 million kWh of "green" electricity generated from renewable sources. Together with the existing photovoltaic (PV) system installed at the plant, Swire Coca-Cola Zhejiang is now using 100% renewable energy in every aspect of its operation, from manufacturing to logistics. It became the first bottling plant powered by 100% green electricity in the Coca-Cola System in China. In addition, Swire Coca-Cola Hubei and Swire Coca-Cola Yunnan also achieved net-zero emissions by using more renewable energy, such as hydro power and solar power. Carbon emissions totalling 80,000 tonnes are reduced every year by the collective efforts of our 13 bottling plants in the Chinese Mainland.

Meanwhile in the U.S., the PV installations are also scaling up. Swire Coca-Cola USA has installed a PV system with 900 kW solar capacity in its new facility in Colorado Springs, which covers more than 100% of the energy needed to power the building on an annual basis.

Further progressing our renewable energy generation journey, we envisage a number of ongoing PV installation projects to be completed in the coming year in Huizhou, China, as well as in Denver, Glendale and Tucson in the U.S.
