As a core member of the "China Bottlers Procurement Consortium" (CBPC), Swire Coca-Cola took part in the "CBPC Suppliers Sustainable Development Summit" in Yunnan, China last November. Together with the other members, Swire Coca-Cola conducted in-depth exchanges with 70 suppliers to discuss future carbon reduction strategies. The summit also aimed to strengthen suppliers' confidence in sustainable development, and to jointly build a "point-to-point" green supply chain.

In 2021, CBPC encouraged suppliers in China to take part in an initiative to build a green and low-carbon supply chain. The aim was to set a unified carbon reduction target with upstream and downstream industrial partners in the supply chain to reduce 30% of carbon emissions in Scope 1, 2 and 3 by 2030. At the summit, CBPC and its partners jointly released the "CBPC Supplier Sustainable Development Actions Report", which highlighted cases sharing by 16 suppliers. The report demonstrated the company's determination and effective actions in carbon reduction; while also emphasising how participants could learn best practices on carbon reduction from each other.

Swire Coca-Cola is committed to building a green supply chain and has actively invited suppliers to participate in this green initiative over the past two years. Mr. Barry Wong, Chief Procurement Officer of CBPC and General Manager - Procurement of Swire Coca-Cola, said at the summit, "As of October 2022, a total of 57 suppliers have responded to the carbon reduction initiative, accounting for over 70% of key procurement categories. In the categories of glass bottles, shrink film and aluminum cans, more than 90% of suppliers have responded to the relevant initiatives.”

CBPC is a Chinese bottling plant procurement group jointly established by Coca-Cola China, Swire Coca-Cola and COFCO Coca-Cola Beverage. It is responsible for the strategic procurement of all direct and indirect materials for Coca-Cola bottling plants in the Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Mongolia, as well as being responsible for supplier relationship management. As one of the key members of CBPC, Swire Coca-Cola is committed to building a low-carbon green supply chain with upstream and downstream partners; jointly achieving the 2030 carbon reduction target, and contributing to keeping global warming below 1.5°C.
