Most of the villagers in Maodao Village belong to the Li ethnic group, whose traditional textile techniques of spinning, dyeing, weaving, and embroidering have been listed as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO. To preserve this heritage while empowering youth, we are providing embroidery and e-commerce courses to help them start their own businesses. We have also installed solar-powered streetlights in the community to promote low-carbon living.
At the launching ceremony, Dang Jian, CEO of Swire Coca-Cola China, emphasised, 'At Swire Coca-Cola, we believe business value and social value can go hand-in-hand. We continuously invest in sustainable development and giving back to society. The "Carbon Reduction Farmland" is our innovative exploration for rural decarbonisation and revitalisation. Through this platform, we hope to invite partners along our value chain to join our "Carbon Reduction Alliance", and collectively reduce our carbon footprint.'
