Coca-Cola Vietnam is empowering informal waste collectors in Da Nang City through a meaningful collaboration with social enterprise ReForm Plastic and its social initiative The Collector Network. Together, they hosted an informative Health and Occupational Safety Workshop for waste collectors at a Coca-Cola EKOCENTER in October.

The workshop provided complimentary health assessments for the participants.

The workshop provided comprehensive training in waste collection skills and knowledge, complimentary health assessments, and essential health and first-aid protective equipment to 230 waste collectors, primarily women working in the city. "We hope our partnership will highlight the endeavors and efforts of the workers in the community, enhancing the safety and well-being of those individuals who diligently "give back life" for waste as part of their meaningful work," said Karen So, Managing Director of Swire Coca-Cola.

Aligned with sustainable development goals recognised in Vietnam, this partnership aims at implementing comprehensive solutions to support the workers in the waste management sector in Da Nang City. By the end of 2023, we plan to increase the number of supported workers from 650 to 850 through training and welfare assistance.

Established by ReForm Plastic in 2022, The Collector Network focuses on addressing the needs of the informal waste sector while strengthening and deepening the impact for this vulnerable group.
