The Launch of a Sustainability-Focused Venture Capital Fund

At Swire Coca-Cola, we believe that sustainability is always a result of collective work. In July, following the lead of The Coca-Cola Company, Swire Coca-Cola has joined hands with seven other bottling partners from around the world to create a first-of-its-kind, sustainability-focused venture capital fund in partnership with Greycroft, a leading venture capital firm. The fund’s USD 137.7 million in capital comes primarily from USD 15 million of committed capital from The Coca-Cola Company and each of the eight bottling partners.

This fund will bring together the large scale and subject-matter expertise of the Coca-Cola system with Greycroft’s capabilities to accelerate emerging solutions for sustainability.

The fund aligns with Swire Coca-Cola’s networked approach to sustainability and carbon reduction and has the potential to help advance solutions across our global value chain to build climate resilience, reduce our carbon footprint and protect biodiversity.

To start, we will focus on five key areas with the most potential impact on our system: Packaging, heating and cooling, facility decarbonization, distribution, and supply chain.

As we continue to embrace new and innovative ways of doing business and collaborating with startups, we have the opportunity to create more shared value and make the world a better place together with our partners across the global Coca-Cola system.
